About the Author

Bruce Werthwein was born and raised in New Jersey.  He is a devoted husband, and loving father of 5 children, and many grandchildren.  Bruce has been an art instructor for over 20 years in the elementary school setting.  He currently resides in Florida.  He and his wife enjoy their holidays and summers in California.   Bruce is affectionately called “Papa Bear” by his eldest daughter.  This was the inspiration behind the “Papa Bear” character.  It was his love for art, education, and children that led to the completion of this book.  Enjoy!

About the Illustrator

Joe Hagen was born in Dunkirk, New York.  He was raised in Florida, where he currently resides with his wife and three children.  Joe served eight years in the United States Army.  He then pursued his dream and completed his Commercial Arts degree.   Since then, he has worked as a freelance as a graphic designer and illustrator.
